Where do you see true Bhutan?

There is a vast difference between the lifestyles of people living in eastern Bhutan and other parts of our country. Coming here, a person can know a real value of life. A meaningful life exists where someone spends their time doing some significant things. Kanglung is a place where it holds the people who solely work each day to survive. Even a small child knows the daily routines of his works beside the daily schedules of the school. Each minute they have something great to do. They could hardly think about leisure time and fun moments. Day time would be their busy hours with their books and the moment night falls, students walk off their home selling vegetables. Weekends for them are meant for their household chores and other works, not the resting days. I feel best future citizens will mostly come from eastern Bhutan because they are trained to work hard since their childhood. They will already have skills to various works where others children have to learn.
Life could be too precious to waste by indulging ourselves in awful activities. So knowing the reward of hard works and, self reminding ourselves is the best thing we could to in our growing stage. Self awareness and mindfulness should be the main attitude that we should carry with us every time. Today as I stand on the threshold of a new place and the new environment, I aspire for my future with great hope and optimism. I have encountered diverse cultures, and the value of labour life in the eastern side. I got inspired by the little kids who come in the traditional dresses even when they are selling vegetables. They preserve their identity as a Bhutanese. I feel they are not doing so, only out of patriotism but they have the pride of being a Bhutanese. They know that a small contribution to their families could bring a huge happiness and a help to everyone in the family. They know the essence of life. Children living in eastern Bhutan are well educated not only in terms of information and books knowledge but they are culturally well informed. If one should know a true Bhutan and the true Bhutanese they should probably visit the eastern part. The journey to true Bhutan begins and ends here in eastern Bhutan. Though the people live with simplicity and hardship, but they have the attitude of true Bhutanese.

There isn't anybody, at least nobody i know who does not like weekends. Well, i love weekends. Weekends are the most exciting days for every one. When i say i love weekends, it does not mean i have a lot to do or i have plans always. But weekends really keep me and make me  feel free and relaxed. I am sure it does to every one. Even if it is just sleeping or staying on my bed and watching movies and no plans like picnicking or shopping i would still not want my weekends to be like the usual weekdays.
Every one will have their own hobbies and interest which could be used and fulfilled in the weekdays. Weekend can be usually a leisure time to every one. Leisure time necessarily doesn't mean to be free and  to rest, but it can be used to make a good memories doing what we love, our hobbies. Hobbies are a regular activity done for pleasure in our leisure time. It keeps us ingaged and make good use of time. Hobbies are not done for rewards but for the benefit of ownself and for interest. The best time to do such things are during weekends. Weekends are also the time where most of the family go for outings, so weekends is the best time for families to be together and have the pleasure of having a family. The weekends can be utilised in every manners, necessarily doesnot have to have a party and fun every time. For students the weekends can be used as a revision time. And for civil servants weekends can be the resting days. Weekends are the best days for every one and these days also are very significant in the life of people.

A poem i love!

Sonnet 60

Shakespeare (photo courtesy: Google)
"Like as the waves make towards the pebbled shore,
So do our minutes hasten to their end;
Each changing place with that which goes before,
In sequent toil all forwards do contend.
Nativity, once in the main of light,
Crawls to maturity, wherewith being crown’d,
Crooked elipses ’gainst his glory fight,
And Time that gave doth now his gift confound.
Time doth transfix the flourish set on youth
And delves the parallels in beauty’s brow,
Feeds on the rarities of nature’s truth,
And nothing stands but for his scythe to mow:
   And yet to times in hope my verse shall stand,
   Praising thy worth, despite his cruel hand."

                                                      William Shakespeare

 I remember reading or learning this poem when I was in class twelve. Though like any other poems, it was also hard to understand in the beginning after a normal reading, but I started to love it after my teacher taught me. Yes! I loved it. Sonnet 60, as in the title, 60 represents 60 minutes of the time. It signifies time. Time and how it passes by. Our life is a naive baby and then the best of the cheerful days come, then the crooked eclipse of the moon that is a human's old age, says this beautiful sonnet. Time is also compared here with the waves of the sea that takes over one another.
This is a beautiful poem shall remain my favorite always.

Secret crush of my friend

My eyes darted on you;
While your mellifluous voice,
Uttered your identity.
This intimidated my heart.
My heart went in dilemma,
Whether you are the cynosure of my eyes;
And my nervousness answered me,
photo courtesy Google
Yes! He is the one.
I negotiated my way towards you;
But it made me shiver,
And I made lame excuses,
Because total failure was my reward.
Our sudden exchange of words;
Was a big episode that would transpire,
Like short instant in fairy world,
As it was barely a sentence.
To some you are bedlamite;
But passive, you are to me,
When you descended a step,
I stole a secret gaze at you.
Your gape at anything,
Was like posing for photographs;
And overall,
I always doubted your look at me.
Motivated I went;
Seeing your simplicity and hard work,
And that was my first crush
Simple and adorable.

Reading dying out.

Reading is an art of doing research and filtering information which demands understanding and analyzing skills. To inculcate reading habit is the quality of a person to learn and appreciate the world. Reading helps one to become an ethically dependable and a better human being. Through reading a person can discover the value of life and can get engaged in a constructive way. Reading not only improves understanding and speaking but also the writing skills. It is the best and the preliminary step to become a good writer. A person who has a habit of reading can be more expressive and confident.
Reading a book of interest, comic or anything improves literacy and drives the sensation in literacy. Whereas there are many people who think that writing well and learning how to write well develops literacy. Obviously writing has an impact of our personality but reading truly makes us literate. Even the thought of staring at words and turning them into thoughts and ideas makes our brain work. Writing comes only after reading. To become a good writer one has to read more and understand the ways and guidelines of writing.
The changes that are taking place due to modernization are extremely devastating and great in Bhutan. These drastic changes are having a great influence in the way people think and behave. The value of reading materials is fading away with time. People prefer other electronic gadgets than to read. This shows that the youths of future are likely to become intellectually handicapped and poor in terms of extra and general knowledge. Every day most people are engaged with interactive and entertaining form of social Medias like face book, e-mailing, and other internet facilities and becomes fully dependent on it. Though these materials provide accessibility to information but it in a way has a negative effect on them. These materials have more of entertaining stuffs than the educative one, so it is obvious that the user is likely to get distracted.
Reading also helps to analyze and imagine which develops the thinking power. The more we think and analyze, the more we develop our reading as well as writing skills. Reading also put importance on learning about various cultures across the world. Being open to the elements of diverse way of life, readers get to know more about human dynamics. Reading can also become a hobby which can be a good habit to spend the leisure time. But nowadays student and any other professionals do not read for leisure, reading has now become a compelled thing. No one prefers to read unless they are asked to. Reading for leisure is dying with time and modernization. Nowadays teachers have to force a student to read and write. This means that the importance of reading anything of value is being disregarded. Social media hinders people’s ability to experience worthy literary works. So read to write, and read to explore. Reading has no limits and rules.

who am i?

 I used to be someone who was most relaxed in every moment of my life. When most of my friends were searching for an answer to reach up to their dreams, I didn’t even manage to question myself what I really wanted to do. But, now through lots of support and inspirations I received from the people around me I feel I am self-assured enough to map my own life. I may look physically same to others but I could feel lots of changes in the way I think. So what I wanted to fulfill is that I should show that different me to others through my actions. I learned to dream high and aspire more than before, because as I use to get satisfied with everything I obtain and it was actually an interruption to my optimism and success. There are chances of getting 80% if you are have aspired for 95%, so we should always dream high.  I really don’t have such fixed things I wanted to do in future but I really wanted to be a good daughter to my parents, a good citizen to my country and a best friend to everyone.  I wanted to pay my gratitude to the people who have helped me to grow physically as well as mentally. I think it is still not too late for me to really start over with what I wanted to do. I wanted to believe that where ever I stand, it is always a best place for me to learn new things and move ahead with my life. My only dream is not to remain doing nothing productive in my life.

In order to reach my dreams and hopes I need to work smartly, not only harder. I always need to build up high and higher passion for everything new I learn. I should also bring some changes to myself and my surroundings instead of accepting every miracle of changes that I encounter. I have learned not to live for others, I should live for myself. Existence of other people and their aversions towards me should not interrupt my life from taking opportunities. I should always look at the preceding track of my life so that I could succeed.
